Most of the time you will get a reliably accurate answer from a home pregnancy test within a couple of weeks after you’ve received your fertility treatment although the majority of clinics will provide this service. Never forget that sometimes when home pregnancy tests are carried out too soon after treatment, they can often suggest a false positive result.

You may find other indications of pregnancy that you will see, for example: sudden mood changes, sore breasts and the need to use the toilet more often, nausea, missing your period, tiredness and heightened sense of smell and taste.

Generally the fertility clinic will want to stay in touch regularly with you so they can go through checks to guarantee your baby’s growth is safe. There are other clinics that do not carry on with support after their part of the agreement is complete so separate arrangements will have to be made to look after your pregnancy and delivery.

If your fertility treatment is successful, don’t be surprised if you are not as joyful as you thought you would be as it can take a while to adjust. Don’t worry if you have these feelings,, many expectant mothers have them if they discover they are having a baby and it impacts those that have had a natural pregnancy as often as it does with those who have used a fertility clinic.

Emotionally, you may find being pregnant tough but actually your pregnancy should not be any more distinct to a person who hasn’t had fertility treatment.

At times however, it may be necessary to have supplemental scans at the hospital. Should this be the case it is likely because they have had previous problems with miscarryingor health problems for instance. The age of the expectant mother may also be a deciding factor because as you age the more likely your risk of complications will be.

Since the beginning of fertility treatment, decades ago over a million babies have been born employing treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization for example, and there is every reason to believe that you will give birth to a healthy baby. Despite the happiness it brings, all medical treatments have some risks and there isn’t a way of dismissing the slight chance of there being a problem, no matter how the infant was conceived, although most problems are relatively insignificant. It might be easier said and done but try to relax during the pregnancy as much as you can.

Unfortunately the amount of stillbirths that occur after employing In Vitro Fertilization is higher those for normal conception. Ordinarily there are only a couple of situations that can cause this: the first being that women that receive fertility treatment have a pregnancy test early into the pregnancy. There is also the possiblility that a woman who conceived naturally may receive what she considers to be a late menstrual period when in fact an embryo has been created, but failed to implant. One major problem is because women who have fertility treatment are generally older than those who do not, and the prospects of losing the baby grow as the woman gets older. If you are unsure about anything it is best to contact your gynecologist at the fertility clinic.
